RTGS is an electronic central system related to payments (regardless of the amount) that operates on an immediate, total, final, and continuous basis to execute credit transfer orders. It provides settlement for liquidation systems operating in the Kingdom through central bank accounts. The RTGS system is used to settle high-value payment transactions taking place from one bank to another. The transaction is implemented through the SWIFT system in JOD or its equivalent in other currencies (JD, USD, EUR, or GBP).
ACH is a secure payment system that provides banks, in addition to the Central Bank of Jordan and all clients, with a service called “Retail Payments,” which facilitates the execution of numerous financial transfers, whether credit or debit (through 3 sessions with today’s value date), provided that the amount transferred does not exceed 100,000 dinars or 50,000 in the currencies circulated through the system (Dollar, Euro, or British Pound).
